Yes, they’ve been rare if not extinct during COVID-19, but recently Sam McNally called me to look after sound for him, Calvin Welch, Graham Burns and Jo Elms at The Gratitude Concert. I took in some lovely DPA 4060 omni mics for the drum kit, plus a trusty D6 for the bass drum. Radial DI boxes looked after bass and keys, and Jo brought her own vintage Beyer mic and DI box, both of which sounded great.
It was performed at The Brahma Kumaris in Five Dock, with a small audience of socially distanced punters at 1.5 metre intervals.
The show was mixed on the house Qu24, and I took in an iPad and access point to use the A&H MixPad app during setup, which was really handy.
